During the night of 1.11. she fired a spread of two at a small convoy in AM 5397 and sank 1 steamer and probably another vessel. Also, on 23.10. she fired a spread of three at a Monitor of the "Erebus" class in AM 5396. Explosions after 8, 9 and 9.7 minutes. When submarine is back in port it will have to be cleared up whether these explosions were ground runners at the end of the run (depth of water 44 meters). |

It was reported from Reykjavik that the largest Icelandic passenger freighter "Godafoss" (1,542 tons) was sunk by a German torpedo within Icelandic waters. |

24 people lost their lives. 14 members of the crew and 10 passengers (of a total of 12 on board) including 4 women and 4 children (19 people were rescued). |
