  Use of torpedoes when Anti-T V Defence is suspected.  
     
  1)  Numerous observations made in action give rise to the suspicion that the enemy is attempting to counteract T V by means of noise devices (circular saw, humming noises etc.)  
     
  2)  As before, however, U-boats can still report successes, even when noise devices are used.  
     
  3)  If it is suspected on good grounds that noise devices are being used as anti T V defence, and tactical conditions are suitable, another type of torpedo, preferably "Lut" should be fired.  The principle remains however; it is better to fire a T V than not to fire at all.  The same applies especially under tactical conditions, when the use of other types of torpedoes is unsuitable.  
     
  4)  Current order no. 6 concerning the state of immediate readiness for firing T V is still valid.  This order is dealt with in greater detail in current order no. 43.  
     
          The firing of T V at the enemy when he has an attached buoy (circular saw, etc.) still offers us a good chance of obtaining a hit in positions from 160/180.
