1.)	Atlantic:
	a)	U-2324 (von Rappard), U-873 (Steinhoff) departed Kristiansand, U-109 (Hilgendorf) from Trondheim for patrol. U-926(Rehen), U-541 (Petersen), U-1228 (Marienfeld), U-2329 (Schlott) from Kiel for Horten.
	b)	U-1022 (Ernst) positioned at convoy intake point off Bergen. Boat came from operations area off Reykjavik. Still no further report.
	c)	U-853 (Frömsdorf) received the Gulf of Maine as operations area, focal point off Boston. If unfavorable, alternative area Halifax or New York.
	d)	U-1202 (Thompsen) reports sinking of 2 ships of 14000 GRT on 31 March from eastbound convoy in BE 6123. Reversal shot on escort boat outmaneuvered by stopping. 26 March BE 6193 large westbound convoy. Due to failures from depth charges no attack.

2.)	Norwegian Sea:
	U-312 reports 31 March 14.37 hours in AC 8311 patrol vessel (large fishing trawler) sunk. U-307 and U-992 returned from Operation Harstadt.

1.)	Atlantic:
	a)	U-843 (Herwartz) East Asian boat coming from Japan reports it will be at Bergen convoy intake point on 2 April.
	b)	From the Summary Report from U-1022 (Ernst) it is apparent that 2 ships were sunk. The boat shot a three-fan in a convoy of two freighters and two escort vessels. Two different sinking sounds heard. Additionally the sinking of a U-boat hunting vessel in AE 4758. On 10 March the boat broke off with the attack on a search group in Sea State 6-7, was shot with on board weapons, afterwards severe depth charge pursuit. Return transit due to damage.

2.)	Norwegian Sea:
	U-293 and U-739 departed Narvik on 1 April for Atlantic operation.

1.)	Atlantic:
	a)	U-843 (Herwartz) from East Asia, U-953 (Werner) from Channel arrived Bergen, U-1305 arrived Stavanger. U-2328 (Lawrence), U-1105 (Schwarz) departed Kiel, U-2324 (v.Rappard) Kristiansand, U-825 (Stoelker) Bergen on patrol. U-979 (Meermeyer) departed Bergen to resume patrol broken off on 29 March.
	b)	U-1109 (von Riesen) has begun return transit in AN 1441 due to failure of the port supercharger clutch. Position AN 2784. No defenses in Fair Passage.
	c)	The next 6 type IXC U-boats proceeding to the North American east coast follow one after another. Interval on average 380 nm. Intention: Execution of a rake of the England - America convoy route (the last finding runs via BC 77, 64, BD 29, 39) From about BD 30 right edge to about BC 70. From there independent boat operation in American coastal waters. Detailed instructions concerning behavior at convoy were transmitted.
	d)	American merchant ship reports 14.43 hours periscope in DN 3341 possibly U-510 or U-532, that by plotting are about in DH 15 and 41.

2.)	Norwegian Sea:
	U-312 reports limited ability to dive and intends overhaul work in AC 8266. German U-boat in AC 8856 was reported to Russian flying boat 2 April at 17.20 hours from land station. U-481 departed from the homeland to Norwegian Sea.

1.)	Atlantic:
	a)	U-249 (Kock) departed Bergen for patrol.
	b)	U-926 (Rehren) was attacked unsuccessfully by aircraft off Frederikshavn at 07.57 hours.
	c)	U-858 (Bode) gave passing report from AL 2770. Determined defenses in Iceland Passage.
		U-396 first weather report from AL 17.
	d)	U-1018 (Burmeister) 73 days at sea. Loss mus be expected. Operations area initially west exit of the Channel, then free to penetrate into the Channel. No information as to reason for loss.

2.)	Norwegian Sea:
	Russian land station gave 3 April 10.08 hours to flying boat: Search and attack orders on German U-boat in AC 8248. (U-312 possible). U-312 was requested to report by Short Signal if with onboard means again fully clear for diving and combat capable. Up to now no report.
	13.32 hours Russian flying boat received orders, to fly U-boat escort for ship traffic in area Kola Bay. (Coastal traffic was accepted).

3.)	Convoy Protection Southern Norway:
	4 April 00.37 hours attack by enemy warships on own convoy in AN 3513 upper-left was reported. U-299, assigned as escort, reported 01.06 hours in AN 3116 upper-right three Fat on destroyer formation, course 300°, 25 knots. 2 torpedoes detonated after 95 and 96 seconds. After diving loud sinking sounds in the immediate vicinity. Endorsement B.d.U.: Sinking of at least 1 destroyer was accepted.

2.)	Norwegian Sea:
	U-312 reports full operational readiness. Boat had reported attack by Catalina with onboard weapons on 1 April 06.37 hours in AC 8559. After diving to 2 A 6 depth charges. No damage. Boat goes again into operations area north of Fischer Peninsula to Kola Estuary. U-956 2 April departed Trondheim for Atlantic operation.

	b)	Air reported 08.05 hours: 8 merchant ships in AE 8394, course NW.

2.)	Norwegian Sea:
	Boats of Kola Estuary were informed that at 13.13 hours Russian flying boat was ordered to protect ships at Sjet Navolok. Also from B-Dienst ship traffic was assumed in Fereich Teriberka.

1.)	Atlantic:
	a)	U-315 (Zoller) reports: Off Landsend sank 1 steamer 8000 GRT, two-Lut detonation after 8 minutes 27 and 35 seconds. Additionally 2 reversal shot misses. It does not appear a second ship was sunk. By plotting already on return transit in about AM 42.
	b)	Warship reports 06.13 hours to Portsmouth: Torpedo or mine hit, position not given, Channel area.
	c)	U-1206 (Schlitt) Kristiansand, U-1055 (Meyer) Bergen departed on patrol.
	d)	Operations area: U-1206 Moray-Firth, U-1274 English east coast, from AN 5110 to 5860. U-979 Reykjavik. U-485 going initially to La Pallice to supplement provisions.
	e)	U-234, U-2326 entered Kristiansand.

2.)	Norwegian Sea:
	U-716 (Thimme) began return transit due to attack periscope failure. Boat was rammed by a destroyer while attacking a large inbound freighter on 5 April in AC 8580. Attack periscope bent, otherwise no damage. U-711 reports after returning in Summary Report: 22 March in the morning T V on armed fishing trawler close under Mal Olenij. After 6 minutes 45 seconds observed hit on stern. Forced to submerged by Catalina. Sinking was accepted.

3.)	Convoy Protection Southern Norway:
	U-1163 (Balbuhn) received orders at 22.48 hours to pursue at highest speed 3 enemy units in AN 3128, course south, 18 knots. (Previously boat was under escort from Stavanger to Kristiansand). Two enemy units (about destroyer sized) located 02.00 hours in AN 3164 lower-right, lying stopped. No reports thus far from the boat concerning enemy contact. Boat received orders to break off search this morning at 05.00 hours because the enemy is no longer detected.

The daily reports for 8 - 21 April are missing
