From the report it is clear that the boat in the St. Lawrence River sighted a total of 3 convoys and independents and sound bearings from vessels 7 to 10 times.  The boat approached only 1 convoy and 1 independent.  With a type XXI boat with higher speed one could approach all sighted vessels with certainty and most probably all heard targets, in addition attack opportunities at convoys can be exploited in completely different forms.  With a type XXI in these conditions a large success may be expected.
