    17.30   With a new attempt by the Chief Engineer and Ob.Masch Fischer at 17.30 hours engaging the anchor clutch is successful due to the perseverance and skill of the latter.  Fischer worked 1.2 hours under the over washed stern until the clutch held to the point that the anchor could be heaved.  
    18.15   Anchor aboard.  Anchor is operational.  Proceeding with 1 Vp-boat (905) and U-434 to Arendal.
