Yucatan Strait strong night air without radar. DM 18, 19, 27 medium independent and convoy traffic east-west and the reverse in visual range of beacons. Day strong air, nights sea and light air with radar. Tortugas objective point out of the Gulf. | |||||
2) 16 July DL 6415 three-fan on 6000 GRT, left burning. 21 July double and single unexplained miss on 7000 GRT. Impacts heard. 1 tube runner. | |||||
3) 28 July DM 1949 during tanker hunt starboard diesel piston seizure. Again ready for 13 knots. 4 plus 1 torpedoes. 53 cbm, provisions for 3 weeks. Request Metox tubes. | |||||

Because U-84 was not at the meeting point, on 26 August it was ordered to report position, this remained without answer. | |||||
U-760 encountered an enemy destroyers at the meeting point CD 7925 for 18 August and received depth charges. It was assumed that U-84 was destroyed by the same units. | |||||
"U-84" was declared missing one star on 3 September effective 26 August, on 18. May 1944 declared missing two stars. | |||||
Total loss is assumed. | |||||
