A.) During the 1st test dive Vent 1 could not be opened.  Vent was frozen.  Flooding via the diesel exhaust gas piping.  After 1/2 hour submerged cruise vent 1 could be opened.

The echo sounder could not be made operable in the shipyard before departure.  The shipyard maintained the receiver was out of service.  My idea, to check in the test area, was rejected and not carried out.  At sea, the command has corrected the fault in one hour that the yard could not eliminate in x days.  The controller on the mechanical part was out of tune, also the impulse generator was dirty. The experts sent by the shipyard to overhaul the echo sounder were probably not aware of the operation of the sounder. It the shipyard (G.W.X) should be urged that in the case of urgent and important works the corresponding specialist should be sent, and not as in this case [illegible remainder of sentence].

On the 4th day the the fuel line to the fuel pump broke from strong vibrations at AK-cruise.  It was secured with wooden plugs.  It would be appropriate if there were a corresponding line for the port and starboard engines on the boat, because these lines are quite short and are exposed to significant loads.  The line was welded at home.
